Silent Tears…. A Mother’s Lament……

In the flickering lamplight, prepare yourself for a journey into a mother’s heart. Here, we encounter a love fierce and unwavering, tested by a twist of fate.

Brace yourself for the raw ache of “Silent Tears… A Mother’s Lament…,” a poem that lays bare the depth of a mother’s devotion.

In the hush of night, we greeted your arrival,
A moment sacred, my heart felt whole.
Your grasp so small, entwined with mine,
I cradled you, kissed you, wished for time to stand still.

But then the doctors spoke, their words a bitter pill,
Autism, they said, a label heavy to bear.
Disbelief pierced my soul, denial my shield,
Yet truth echoed in every test, every stare.

My heart, once whole, now shattered in despair,
I wished to undo the cruel hand fate dealt.
Yet for you, my precious one, I’d brave the storm,
My love, a fortress in a world so heartless, so cold.

Each day since, a prayer upon my lips,
That you may find peace before I depart.
To hold you close, to soothe your fears,
Before the final whisper claims my heart.

For this world, unkind and unforgiving,
I fear what lies ahead when I am no more.
Better to journey together, hand in hand,
Than leave you to face its shadows alone, unsure.

So let the reaper come, his scythe in hand,
For in his shadow, we’ll find our peace at last.
Together, forever, in the realm beyond,
Where love’s embrace knows no bounds, no past.
