My tummy’s a drum, not a musical treat,
For I’m famished, you see, and there’s nothing to eat.
My insides all rumble, a cacophony grand,
But my mouth stays quite mum, not a word at command.

I dream of fat kiwis, or maybe a dodo,
A feast fit for a king, a delicious “tudo” (though that’s not a word).
But alas, there is naught, and my hunger won’t quit,
So I’ll sit here and ponder the woes of a silent “L.”

With a sigh and a groan, my belly cries out,
But the “L” stays unheard, with a muffled-out shout.
Oh, the irony stings, this linguistic plight,
A hungry bird’s woes, in the dead of the night.

My grammar’s impeccable, my diction divine,
But this darn silent letter is truly a sign
Of the cruel twist of fate, that my pleas are unheard,
A starving bird’s plight, with not even a peep of a word.

I should tweet my frustration, express all my woes,
But alas, even “lol” remains out of my beak-os!
