The Sourness of Becoming

Life, much like the growth of a mango, thrives through challenges and transformations. Days of sorrow, weariness, and longing are the vibrant heat and refreshing rains of existence, forging us into something more radiant than we ever were. The sourness we encounter in the present is merely the promise of sweetness yet to come, a powerful reminder that every challenge is an essential step in an extraordinary metamorphosis.

Beneath the blazing sun, I hang alone,
A tender mango, seeds of sorrow sown.
My flesh is bitter, clinging to the vine,
Each gust of wind, a whispered test of time.

The rain descends, unyielding in its might,
A ceaseless dance of darkness and of light.
Birds peck and tear, their claws my fragile foes,
Yet in their wounds, a silent wisdom grows.

The sour sting, it lingers on my skin,
A patient fire, fermenting deep within.
I ache, I yearn, I bend, I do not break;
For sweetness blooms where shadows undertake.

And when the sun returns to kiss my face,
I am transformed by trials I embrace.
A fragrant gold, my essence now complete,
Life’s bitter trials have made my heart a feast.

Thus, life shapes us, as time tempers the mango. Our hardships, though sour, are not without purpose. They teach resilience, foster growth, and prepare us for the sweetness that awaits. To endure the rains and heat is to trust in the artistry of life; a process that transforms bitterness into beauty, just as an unripe mango becomes the bearer of sweetness and joy.
