Hummingbird.. Hummingbird..

Prepare to be dazzled by a creature of both grace and power! This poem introduces the hummingbird, a tiny titan who reigns supreme in the skies.

Don’t be fooled by its size – this jewel-toned wonder boasts an impressive repertoire of flight, fueled by a mother’s unwavering love and a zest for life’s sweet nectar.

So, step into a world of vibrant blooms and dazzling displays, where a hummingbird’s heart beats with the rhythm of nature’s wonder.

Hummingbird… Hummingbird… The royals amongst avians we are,
We fly, we hover, we go backwards, sideways & straight up,
Our kinds owns the skies, I am a superstar.
I fly across the land and feed on nectar for my child,
Only to fly back to feed her, oh a Mother’s love is blind.

I shall nourish her until she gains the strength to soar alone,
Revelling in my lineage as they mature and raise fledglings of their own.
With wings a blur and heartbeats swift, I dance in the air’s embrace,
A testament to nature’s gift, I find my purpose and my place.

In gardens bright, where flowers bloom, I sip the sweetest wine,
A fleeting jewel in nature’s room, a creature so divine.
The days are short, the nights are long, but still, I carry on,
For in my heart, a love so strong, I greet each dawn with song.

My tiny heart beats fast and true, a marvel to behold,
A thousand times per minute, through heat and through the cold.
In migration, I journey far, across vast fields and seas,
A testament to who we are, intrepid, wild, and free.
