Prepare yourselves for a tale of feline woe. This is the story of a cat whose hunting instincts have been cruelly curbed. By fate’s cruel twist, he finds himself condemned to a life of forced vegetarianism, a stark contrast to the primal thrill he once craved. So listen closely, as this disgruntled kitty bares his soul, revealing the deep ache of a hunter’s spirit trapped in a most peculiar situation.
I am a cat that has been belled to hell,
It has proven to be my death knell,
I have tried to sneak up on bird and mice,
The bloody bell rattles, the prey vanishes before my very eyes,
Turning vegan was never a choice,
I tried protesting, raising slogans, posted on “change.org”, it was hopeless, the blasted birds and vermin voted me out thrice,
I look like jester with a cabbage leaf sitting on my head,
The goggles conceal my frustrations in good stead,
So here I am subsisting on cabbage and more,
They tell me that there’s a special place reserved for me in kitty heaven for sure.
AND A VARIANT FOLLOWS…..
A belled cat in hell’s domain I roam,
A death knell for pigeons seeking home.
I slink through shadows, silent as the night,
But then the bell’s harsh blare, a cruel, loud blight.
Vegan by decree, no feast of fluffy white,
My protests unheard, their squeaks a mocking flight.
Change.org, a platform for the downtrodden plight,
Three times rejected, a vegetarian’s bitter fight.
A jester’s crown, a cabbage for my crown,
Goggles hide the hunger where plump mice once drown.
On leafy gruel I now must sadly munch,
“Kitty Valhalla” promised, with a suspicious hunch.
The primal thrill of stalking, lost to me,
The dance of hunter, the whispered ecstasy.
My hunter’s heart, a dull and aching drum,
Yearns for the pounce, the flash, the victory’s hum.
My whiskers twitch at phantom feathered prey,
My body tense, then slumps in weary dismay.
This forced compassion, a burden I despise,
A hunter’s spirit trapped behind these goggled eyes.
