Self-Preservation and Empowerment in a Harsh Reality

This poem examines the challenges of a difficult reality, highlighting themes of self-preservation and empowerment. The speaker warns against shallow trust and underscores the importance of vigilance, suggesting that hope and the pursuit of dreams can be found even in darkness.

Ultimately, it is a testament to the enduring power of self-love and the strength we find within ourselves.

In a world that’s cold and fierce,
Guard your heart, stay clear of tears.
Trust not the smiles that seem so kind,
Many will stab, given the time.

Live your life, embrace your dreams,
Value self, despite the schemes.
Kindness often goes unseen,
Lost in shadows, cruel and mean.

But guard your soul, self-preserve,
In this world, you must observe.
Be not selfish, but be wise,
In a realm of truth and lies.

Watch for those who feign delight,
Hidden daggers, out of sight.
Gratitude does not exist,
Vanished quick, like morning mist.

Make yourself the priority,
Others may go to hell, truly.
Live to the fullest, make your mark,
Navigate through light and dark.

Stay true to you, hold strong, be free,
In this world of harsh reality.
Embrace your worth, let self-love swell,
For in the end, it’s you who’ll dwell.
