This is a variant of https://addyjjwala.com/2024/06/25/from-extinction-to-empowerment-shaping-a-sustainable-world/
I came up this abridged version since I was told that the poem referred to above was too lengthy and boring. I hope you like it.
Earth groans, a symphony in pain,
Creatures vanish, a silent rain.
The UN’s plea, can humanity see?
Our biosphere’s ravaged, we hold the key.
IPCC’s warning, a fever that climbs,
Transform or perish with time.
Not extinction, but freedom we seek,
A future carved for the strong and the weak.
Population control, a necessary guide,
Family planning, women’s voices amplified.
Education clears the fog,
Sustainable living, our new log.
Ban the hunt, let nature thrive,
Stop poaching, let ecosystems survive.
Forest sanctuaries, mining must fade,
Recycle, for a future well-laid.
Plastics banned for clearer skies,
Bioplastics, a future we prize.
Oceans replenished, fish populations sustain,
Strict regulations, hope we regain.
Drugs, alcohol, tobacco—an iron hand,
Ban them outright, heal our land.
Renewable energy, not fossil fuels’ snare,
Clean technologies, a future fair.
Electric dreams truly green,
Innovation, a path serene.
Public transport, car-free zones,
Sustainable living, in all our homes.
Shared sacrifice, a global feat,
Respect for all, from great to petite.
Protect oceans, end the decay,
Together we rise, find a way.
Clean energy, a sustainable tide,
A future where nature can confide.
Let’s alter our ways, united we stand,
For Earth’s wonders, we lend a hand.
