In the quiet space between yearning and uncertainty, a fire flickers, a symbol of passion, life, and the fragile nature of existence. Two souls, drawn together by the warmth yet separated by the coldness of doubt, face the eternal question: are we more than just fleeting embers in the vast night, or do we burn brightly enough to transcend time? This poem explores the delicate balance between love, illusion, and the mysteries that connect us across the void.

Does the flame between us speak of life or death?
A fire that whispers secrets through its fleeting breath.
Am I but the keeper of dreams destined to fade,
Or does your glow promise a love that won’t evade?

Your face emerges, fierce, from the heart of the night,
A goddess of flame, igniting shadows with light.
Am I drawn to warmth, or phantoms that deceive?
In this barren snow, what truth do we perceive?

The moon, ancient and silent, gazes with a knowing eye,
Does it mourn our yearning or laugh at every sigh?
Are we eternal like stars in the vastness of space,
Or fleeting sparks, consumed by time’s embrace?

What is the distance between warmth and touch,
Between love and longing, do we ask too much?
I kneel by this fire, hands grasping the unknown,
Are you truly with me, or am I forever alone?

The frost bites deep, yet your fire holds me near,
Is it passion or illusion that keeps you here?
Do I feed your flame, or am I the one consumed,
As we stare into the embers, fearing what’s doomed?

The chill surrounds, but your flame draws me close,
Is this desire real, or a shadow’s ghost?
Do I fuel your fire, or are you the one who burns,
As the moon looks on, watching as the world turns?

As the fire dims and the night deepens, the questions remain unanswered, echoes in the silence of the soul. Perhaps it is in the asking, not the answering, that we find meaning. Like embers glowing faintly in the ashes, love and life are transient, yet in their fleeting brilliance, they leave behind something eternal, a warmth that lingers in the heart, even as the flames fade into the darkness.
OR IS IT THE OTHER WAY AROUND?

I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU WOULD KINDLY SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS!
